报告简介：I will give an overview and appreciation of quantum field theory, the most precisely tested theory in physics. The talk is addressed to those without any knowledge of quantum field theory. It is based on my textbook Quantum Field Theory in a Nutshell and my semi-popular book Quantum Field Theory, as Simply as Possible (both published by Princeton University Press.) The former has already been translated into Chinese, Japanese,  Russian and the latter is being translated.

报告人简介：徐一鸿(Anthony Zee)，美籍华裔理论物理学家，美国人文与科学院院士，美国卡夫里理论物理研究所(KITP)与加利福尼亚大学圣塔芭芭拉分校(UCSB)教授。他1945年出生于中国昆明，曾在普林斯顿和哈佛大学接受教育并任教。徐一鸿教授的研究领域十分广泛，在高能物理、量子场论、宇宙学、凝聚态物理、数学物理乃至生物物理等领域都做出过重要贡献。他还致力于物理著作和科普图书的写作，其代表作有《Quantum Field Theory in a Nutshell》、《Einstein Gravity in a Nutshell》、《Group Theory in a Nutshell for Physicists》、《Fly by Night Physics》、《Fearful Symmetry》和《Top Ten Ideas of Physics》等广受赞誉的教材和科普书。
